Just read:
A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.
Passed my way by a travel buddy with good taste in many things including literature, it was an articulate and witty read, my only caution being to brush up on your name remembering techniques before encountering the tangle of characters. I have of course gifted it on accordingly to a fellow English reader.
